The Sauna
The heart of Lost Horizon is the sauna. A specially converted Mongolian yurt; it is also the premier healing tool of the project. Sweating can be transformational. The wood-burning stove uses volcanic stones and water to create steam. Reawaken your senses and reconnect with your body. The space is held at all times by the sauna mentor, whether they are in or out of the sauna. The mentor keeps the sauna at appropriate temperature and tunes into the needs of the users. Techniques can include adding incense to the rocks, fanning and initiating chanting where appropriate.

Healing Garden
The Garden is a haven for the soul, a calm and contemplative unclothed space away from the festival. A chance to recharge, relax and absorb the serenity of the sauna. The garden incorporates a yurt for your belongings, The Lodge - a warm and relaxing tipi, an altar, a central fire pit with a view to the stage, hot and cold showers and a cold plunge. The fire in the Tipi is the hearth of the rig and as such is regarded as sacred.

The Cafe
Lost Horizon prepares good quality locally sourced vegetarian refreshments that are fair trade and organic / grown without pesticides / home grown where possible. We recycle everything we can. The kitchen is seen as the alchemical space.

Entertainment
The main Bedouin tent offers a diverse range of family entertainment that draws on the counter culture of the alternative festival scene. The stage is open to all creating an encouraging dialogue between first time performers and seasoned professionals. Performers are often scouted from the festival by the cabaret compare, giving an eclectic spontaneity to the Lost Horizon vibe.

Renewable Energy
Awareness of true roots sustainability is at the heart of the project; wood fired sauna and off-grid energy use in practice. A strong educational remit in this area is included. We rely mainly on solar power and sometimes wind power as well. We aim to demonstrate the power of sustainable energy sources, and the ease with which they work.

We would like to thank all the people whose hard work and dedication have contributed to making Lost Horizon the special and much loved place it is.
